Code of Ethics

As a collective unit, we strive to uphold the following values in every article we publish, every interview we conduct and every newsletter we send.

1. We at Kent County High School will never plagiarize the work of others. We will always give credit where credit is due.

2. We take responsibility for the credibility of our work. We acknowledge our mistakes and correct them promptly with updated information/stories.

3. We will show compassion for those affected by stories that we cover. We will do our best to consider alternative perspectives.

4. To avoid conflicts of interests we value the omission of bias, personal opinion, and stereotyping within our news.

5. We aim to always respect and support our interviews and present ourselves in a professional manner.

The Society of Professional Journalism Code of Ethics was the basis for the creation of our own code.
