Volleyball

Big Hits were in the stadium when the Kent County Varsity Volleyball team beat Snowhill in a 3-2 match. The team consists of freshman Alyssa Thomason (Middle Hitter), sophomores Bianca Potts (hitter), Natalie Walls (defensive specialist) and juniors Cameron Spence (Middle Hitter, Captain), Lexi Landon (Defensive Specialist), Katie Stecklair (Setter, Defensive Specialist), KT Pagano (Defensive Specialist) and Julianne Diallo (Libero, Defensive Specialist ), and seniors Yasmine Jiggetts (Setter), Lisa Robinson (Hitter, Captain), Lexi Langenfelder (Middle Hitter), Sammie King (Libero, Defensive Specialist) and Matalyn Cesarini (Outside Hitter).

The beginning of the season was started at Kent County High School in the gymnasium on September 11 2019. The same outcome happened last year when the Volleyball team went down there. Julianne Diallo (Junior) took the place of libero that was held by Taiyana Goldsborough (Graduated). The next 3 games followed in a tough loss by Easton High School, Queen Anne's County High and Kent Island High School.

“Encouraging teammates and making sure that everyone has the same goals. If you play for personal gain the team will never succeed. EVERYONE has to work together” says Lisa Robinson who is a Senior and Captain at the High School.

“My goal is to have the year 2019 on the volleyball banner. I plan to lift my team up until that goal becomes reality.” she attached to her interview .

You can see the Kent County Volleyball Team play again on Thursday at the Trojan Arena when they play North Caroline Bulldogs, Junior Varsity 4:00 AND Varsity at 5:30 . (1-3)

Cross Country

The Cross Country is making a real big start with the new team. The team has made a real big change with the amount of players. This year the team has had 8 newbies. The team is now made up of Thomas Martines, Jacob Bohle, Gabriel Voshell, Tim Wintermeyer, Andrew Smith, Conner Moxley, Sam Buckel, Ian Conner, Jaocb Withermeyer, Braiden Bakeoven , Lacy Ervin, Stephanie Hogan, Aaliyah Houston, Desi Fox.

Cross Country and Track are two different stories. Cross Country in High School is a team and they're judged by the points-scoring method. In track is different events with different distances.

Cross Country kicked off August 14 with the first practice and September 11 was the first meet. The meet was held at Kent Island High School when the weather was 96.

“I’m looking forward to states. You have to qualify to make it. So last year we did not make it. However, most kids on the team are running less than 24 minutes. And that’s pretty good. We may make it to state” he claims

Buckel also states “Probably Snow Hill or Kent Island, Snow Hill is the closest team that placed next to us. And Kent Island is just really good and less of a rival and more of jealousy lol”

The team has a lot of competition this year with your support our team can overcome and beat Snow Hill and Kent Island. If you want to show your support the next home game is Wednesday at 4.
