The Supreme Court is at the start of its new term, Oct.7. being its second day, affecting many widespread groups including LGBTQ identifiers, pregnant mothers, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals’ children, and gun carriers, Obamacare users and more.
A Term of the Supreme Court happens on the first Monday of every October, where many cases, opinions, and petitions are reviewed. Afterward, the Supreme court makes a decision on whether they want to implicate a law, based on their agreements.
As these topics have faced a lot of heat, including protests such as rallies carried out across the country involving gun control, shortly after mass school shootings----a growing, widespread national problem for the US. There has also been a lot of controversy around abortion laws in the wake of some states enacting the hei8jartbeat bill, a restriction on pregnant women's right to abortion.
Tuesday's main focus was LGBTQ rights, on questions like whether employers are able to fire workers due to religion and beliefs. Also, LGBTQ identifiers are in hopes of more rights in the future.
We have much time in between for several different rulings, as this year's term can keep going on until early July, according to the Supreme Court.
