Ink Wars in Maryland

Updated: Sep 30, 2019

Jason Lynn, a Carroll County native, made it to the finale on a tv show called Ink Masters on September 17 2019. Lynn was chosen to be on Ink Masters because of his neo-traditional and old school tattoo types.

Jason Lynn is from Hampstead MD, and is currently in his second shop called The Emporium & Odditorium which he opened in 2009 and is located at 1220 N Main St Hampstead, MD 21102. His shop is filled with old and strange objects.

Lynn likes to do strange and nontraditional tattoos for people charging at a minimum of $125 an hour. He is known as one of the best tattoo artists in Carroll County, and now he is being recognized as one of the best in the entire country.

Ink Masters is a reality competition show which first aired January of 2012. The show features tattoo artist who compete in challenges which assesses the skills of the artists. Every week a new challenge is set for the remaining contestants which allows them to show off a particular skill set. And if they win that week they get prizes like new ink or extra time to tattoo their human canvas.

The contestants are eliminated at the end of each week by the judges and at the end of the season the winner gets $100,000.

It is so inspiring to see people from my state become famous and be successful in their careers and reach their goals. I hope Lynn’s story helps inspire other people to try and reach their dreams in life and realize that no matter where you come from, you can make it big in life.
